Elegantly clad in a colourful boubou that emphasizes her brilliant personality—as if that were at all necessary—and the impact of her deep, powerful, solid, confident, and masterful voice, Delphine Mounkorotakes command of the stage with style. Originally from Ségou, this former backing vocalist for Cheick TidianeSeck trained at the Institut National des Arts in Bamako. Delivering a Bwa-inspired Tradi-Modern style, where the sounds of modern instruments joyously mix with local traditional ones, such as the prominently featured balafon, she who is called the “Diva of Bwatun” is loved by all.
