Sara Curruchich is a Kaqchikel Maya singer, songwriter, and activist from San Juan Comalapa, Guatemala. The first Indigenous artist from her community to gain international recognition, she blends Kaqchikel and Spanish in powerful songs that fuse folk, rock, and traditional Mayan music. Through her work, she advocates for Indigenous rights, gender equality, and historical memory, amplifying the voices of Indigenous women with exceptional strength. Her latest album, Mujer Indígena, has been praised worldwide and led her to perform on major festival stages across the Americas and Europe. In 2025, she continues her global tour while working on a new album.
