Bia Ferreira is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for blending Afro-diasporic rhythms like soul, R&B, and rap with Brazilian music, addressing themes such as necropolitics, anti-racism, and LGBTQIAP+ rights. Her single "Cota Não É Esmola" (2018) is the most-watched Sofar Sounds video in Latin America, the fourth globally, and part of the University of Brasília's entrance exam readings. That same year, she toured Europe for the first time. In 2019, she released her debut album Igreja Lesbiteriana, Um Chamado. In 2022, her album Faminta and her WOMEX showcase were highlights, the latter named the best of the edition.
