About the Concert
ArtChoral: Ménestrel - Experience the beauty, intimacy, and power of chamber music in the stunning Art Deco heritage hall of Montreal, Le 9e Grande Salle!
ArtChoral presents Ménestrel, the Canadian early music ensemble of soprano Janelle Lucyk and tenor-lutenist Kerry Bursey, blending early repertoire with Canadian oral folk traditions. The duo’s sound is grounded in historical practice, yet their sensibility is disarmingly modern, shaped by the emotional clarity and immediacy of folk and popular styles.
Musicians
Janelle Lucyk, soprano and artistic director of ArtChoral at Le 9e and Musique Royale, has "an angelic voice. Her expressiveness is beyond words."
Kerry Bursey, tenor, lutenist; described as a “mega musical talent” (NRC, Netherlands), with a voice of “sweet troubadour-like reverie” – Ôlyrix, France.
