About the Concert

ArtChoral: Cantor - Experience the beauty, intimacy, and power of chamber music in the stunning Art Deco heritage hall of Montreal, Le 9e Grande Salle! 

 

ArtChoral's twelve professional singers perform rich vocal works from their new ATMA album "Cantor" with special guest Gideon Zelermyer, renowned cantor of Congregation Shaar Hashomayim in Westmount, who was a soloist on Leonard Cohen's Grammy Award-winning song "You Want It Darker". 

 

Musicians 

Gideon Zelermyer, Cantor of the Shaar Hashomayim congregation in Westmount; featured soloist on the Grammy Award–winning song “You Want It Darker” by Leonard Cohen. 

Matthias Maute, artistic director of ArtChoral, winner of two JUNO Awards 

Janelle Lucyk, soprano and artistic director of ArtChoral at Le 9e and of Musique Royale, possesses “an angelic voice. Her expressiveness goes beyond words.”
