Irem Bekter is a Montreal-based singer-songwriter whose music unfolds as an intimate, cinematic journey shaped by movement across cultures and languages. Her first album of original songs, This Winding Road, with lyrics in English, French, and Spanish, is a luminous and deeply human project that explores the major passages of life: childhood, love, relationships, uprooting, resilience, and la joie de vivre.
Rooted in voice, rhythm and movement, the album concert weaves together Turkish and Argentinian grooves with jazz, indie, and electronic textures. It unfolds as a sensitive arc, inviting an attentive and intimate listening experience - a beautiful and exhilarating musical journey.
Irem is joined by an exceptional ensemble: David Ryshpan (keyboards, backing vocals), Mathieu Deschenaux (electric and double bass), Olivier Bussières (percussion), and Brazilian body percussion artist Lu Horta (vocals, body percussion, backing vocals).
