Acha Divine Patandjila

Acha Divine Patandjila is a multidisciplinary creative and communications professional whose work spans photography, writing, poetry, and visual storytelling. She is the published author of Decountryrized, a poetry collection published in Uganda.

Acha has loved poetry for as long as she can remember, receiving her first certificate for poetry recital at the age of five. Her relationship with spoken word deepened in high school after poet and spoken word artist Kagayi Ngobi introduced the idea of starting a poetry club at her school, which she and her peers helped pioneer. She later joined Kitara Nation, where Kagayi became both her coach and mentor. Through the collective, she explored spoken word poetry, theatrical performance, and storytelling before eventually becoming a published author.

While pursuing a degree in Media Communications, Acha developed a growing interest in photography and visual storytelling, using her camera to document atmosphere, emotion, and everyday human experiences. Her work often explores themes of belonging, memory, intimacy, and connection through both visuals and language. At the heart of Acha’s creative practice is a love for connection by engaging with people, stories, emotions, and the many ways individuals interpret and experience art.
