Join us for the premiere of Regional Realities: From Arrival to Belonging, a 42-minutes film that explores Quebec City through the experiences of three English-speaking newcomers. Set in a predominantly francophone environment, the documentary follows their daily lives as they navigate language, identity, and belonging in the city.
Alongside these personal stories, local English-language organizations share their work welcoming and orienting newcomers. The film also examines the broader history of English-speaking immigrants to Quebec City.
Blending video ethnography and research-creation, the documentary by QUESCREN Research Associate Anita Aloisio captures the adaptation to a new environment in real time.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A and refreshments.
