Description
Libre // dire oui unfolds an environment where humans and machines evolve together. Standing, the audience chooses its own vantage point while the performers create live electronic music and explore their relationships with the beings around them. Little by little, the rules that harmonize this microcosm are revealed.
Everything takes shape in real time and is orchestrated with rigor, following rules that welcome accidents and areas of freedom.
This cabaret of simultaneous occupations brings together music, bodies, and machines in a range of clashes, dialogues, and alliances. It is a celebration where the entities present meet in a collective dance that is both chaotic and choreographed.
The event navigates several postures: resisting, negotiating, welcoming, and playing with what surrounds us; generating new spaces by choosing to leave familiar grounds, clichés, and the various pernicious conditionings to which we are subjected; celebrating singularities; being together; saying yes.
Libre // dire oui is a collective training in taking a step back in order to move forward differently—to look between things, between the bark and the tree, where life circulates.
Biography
TRI is a multidisciplinary production company based in Quebec City that focuses on the encounter between sound, image, objects, engineering, and living matter. Navigating between disciplines, TRI’s productions blend raw art techniques, new technologies, and both popular and contemporary art. Passionate about tinkering, DIY methods, and the power of transformed objects, these artists are constantly seeking new forms of writing.
This “undisciplined” approach means that the projects themselves dictate the disciplinary needs, the spaces, and the conditions for creation. TRI advocates for using disciplines as tools or materials rather than ends in themselves, exploring new correlations between artistic practices. In recent years, the trio has multiplied collaborations in theatre, dance, music, and visual arts.
**Please note that the doors will close at the start of the performance and no latecomers will be admitted.**
