Winner of multiple grants and awards, Diogo Ramos — who has already collaborated with the star Chico César — is an artist of many talents, curious about rhythms in all their diversity. Influenced by Tropicalism, a movement that celebrates the universality of music, the author, composer, performer, producer, and virtuoso guitarist is a brilliant jack-of-all-trades. Just as he excels at finely adapting Gilles Vigneault’s songs in a Bossa Nova style, his most recent productions are a dazzling blend of samba-funk fused with electro and hip-hop. Released in 2023, his latest album, Cabaça, follows the same direction: “The album is full of sparkling brass, warm backing vocals, and groovy bass lines.
