Camino de mujeres, or Women’s Path, is a performance that immerses listeners in the blended musical universe of Mikhaëlle Salazar and her group Mikha.elles, created in 2020. Four unique voices — those of Marie-Neiges Harvey, Carmelle Gauvin, Judith Little-Daudelin, and Mikhaëlle herself — converge into a single vocal expression, exploring a repertoire of Latin rhythms sung in Spanish and French. They are accompanied on percussion by the talented Lara Klaus.
Mikhaëlle’s mixed heritage, born to a Québécoise mother and a Chilean father, serves as a source of inspiration for the themes explored throughout this show, which is drawn from the album of the same name released in November 2023. The album earned a nomination at ADISQ (2024) and at the Prix Opus (2025) in the category World Music Album of the Year. The group was also nominated at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in the Vocal Group of the Year category (2025).
