Scott Alexander Howard

Scott Alexander Howard has a PhD in philosophy from the University of Toronto and was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard, where his research focused on the relationship between emotion and memory. His debut novel, The Other Valley, won the Rakuten Kobo Emerging Writer prize and was longlisted for Canada Reads. The novel has been translated into five languages and is being developed as a television series by Working Title Films and Universal Studios. Scott lives in Vancouver.


Jakub Szamalek

Jakub (Kuba) Szamalek is an author and video game writer. Born in Poland, he studied in the UK (at Oxford and then Cambridge, where he was a Cambridge Gates Scholar) and now lives in Nova Scotia, Canada, with his family. He wrote several best-selling and award-winning books, including the Hidden Web series—critically acclaimed in France and adapted into a major motion picture—as well as Inner Space, which was translated into English and French. Jakub is also the writer behind the international video game bestsellers The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, as well as the forthcoming Blood of Dawnwalker.
