The Baobab Choir is a vocal ensemble that celebrates the joy of a cappella singing and the richness of world and gospel repertoires. Led by experienced soprano and choir director Claude-Marie Landré, it stands out for its search for a unique sound and its interpretation of songs in their original language. Renowned for its concerts without sheet music, the choir offers warm and dynamic performances combining choreography, solos, and percussion. Since its creation, it has established itself as an important player on the Montreal choral scene. The Baobab Choir celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2024 and has performed at major events such as the Festival Nuits d'Afrique, the television program En direct de l'Univers, the Festival de Lanaudière, and Igloofest. It has also won second prize in the Canadian National Competition for Amateur Choirs in 2019.
