BAHAMAS

Bahamas,

the musical project of Canadian singer-songwriter Afie Jurvanen, has established itself as one of the most distinctive voices on the country’s folk and indie scene. After several acclaimed albums and collaborations with artists such as Feist and Kathleen Edwards, Jurvanen continues his journey with warm, introspective music inspired by his quieter life in Nova Scotia. On stage, Bahamas delivers songs that are both sensitive, luminous, and deeply human.

BEATRICE DEER

Beatrice Deer

is an award-winning Inuk singer-songwriter from Nunavik. With her latest album Inuit Legend, she reimagines traditional stories and legends passed down from her ancestors, bringing them into a modern musical landscape.

Now based in Montreal, Deer creates a distinctive sound blending indie rock, folk, and dream-pop, carried by her powerful voice and hypnotic throat singing. The songs on Inuit Legend explore themes of transformation, resilience, and feminine power while shedding light on the history and lived realities of Inuit communities.

Singing primarily in Inuktitut, with touches of English and French, Beatrice Deer bridges tradition and contemporary music. On stage, her bold style — which she calls “Inuindie” — brings ancient stories to life with striking energy and emotion.
