Fave Daka returns to Théâtre Sainte-Catherine this September, this time with The Fave Daka Show starring The Ingrid Li Quartet. Originally from Nigeria, Daka is a Montreal-based singer whose musical experiences span from gospel to R&B to classical and now jazz. Known for his lively stage presence, Daka possesses a vocal timbre that is often likened to jazz greats such as Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. At this show, Daka will be performing a range of jazz and bossa nova classics alongside The Ingrid Li Quartet. Ingrid Li is rising-star jazz saxophonist and bandleader originally from Vancouver, British Columbia who is currently enrolled in McGill University’s jazz program. Li has performed at jazz venues all over North America and Europe and now, with her own quartet, she seeks to share the joys, complexities, and romance of jazz music to a Montreal audience. The other musicians playing at this show include Thomas Andersen on piano, Emmet Murray on upright bass, and Julian Ferrer on drums. There will also be 2 surprise guest vocalists. We hope to see you all at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine on Tuesday, September 23rd for what promises to be a stellar evening of jazz.
