Kathia Rock

Kathia Rock’s musical universe is inspired as much by the urban environment as by her Innu community of Uashat-Mak-Maliotenam, near Sept-Îles on the North Shore. She composes and interprets melodies that draw their sources from the ancestral repertoire of her people as well as from traditional “contemporary folk-rock fusion” music. She transmits her culture, from her ancestral past to new present generations, through music, storytelling and theatre.
