Ska Soundsystem

Ska Sound System is a punk party ska band formed in post-pandemic Montreal in March 2022 by Franz Schuller of GrimSkunk, alongside musicians and friends from the Montreal music scene, including Colectivo, Francbâtards, Cosmik Debris, and Les Van Hornies, to name just a few.

This nine-piece ensemble has captivated audiences and made a name for itself with wild, high-energy performances and an infectious stage presence. Even people who aren’t familiar with ska catch the bug! Their reputation as a must-see live act has taken them across all four corners of Quebec, getting crowds moving wherever they go.

A high-energy blend of ska, punk, rock, funk, and reggae, Ska Sound System draws inspiration from bands such as Sublime, The Specials, Operation Ivy, Rancid, Toots & the Maytals, Madness, as well as GrimSkunk classics. Add several original songs with socially engaged lyrics and a powerful horn section, and you’ve got one hell of a good time waiting for you!
