Bibi Club

Pour leur troisième album Amaro, Bibi Club nous invite à braver les bêtes sombres qui nous épient au détour de la vie, à se dédier à la force thérapeutique d’une fureur de vivre. Il explore le spectre sensible entre l’ici et le là-bas, en nous pointant l’amour, la nature et la communauté comme seule réelle finalité. Les chansons, cartographie d’un monde en soi, s’inscrivent en parallèle de la trajectoire entamée par les bibis dans les dernières années. Maintenant hors du salon, on danse dans un espace mental surchargé par le deuil et la peur dans leurs états les plus bruts. Suite à la mort de deux être proches dans la dernière année, le mantra « Je veux aimer, je veux vivre » résonne intensément dans chaque mélodie; si le cœur est un lieu qui ne meurt jamais, il faut l’atteindre au plus vite.

Inspiré par des rencontres artistiques marquantes, des tournées en compagnie de Blonde Redhead et Circuit des yeux et une collaboration avec Calvin Johnson, Bibi Club se dévoile à présent dans l’avant-pop et l’electronic body music avec des éléments de dark wave et néofolk, empruntant simultanément à des sonorités baroques avec clavecins, trompettes et chants rituels à apprendre par cœur. Soutenu par une communauté bienveillante, dont le saxophoniste et artiste engagé Dimitri Milbrun (George Sand) ainsi que l’autrice-compositrice-interprète Helena Deland (A Different Light), Amaro permet à Bibi Club de se définir dans l’intime et le collectif. 

On their third album, Amaro, Bibi Club invites us to brave the dark beasts that shadow us beneath the surface and devote ourselves to the therapeutic power of a fierce will to live. It explores the sensitive spectrum between the here and there, pointing to love, nature, and community as the unifying purpose. The songs draw a map of a world of its own, following the trajectory traced by the Bibis in recent years. Now out of the living room, we dance in a mental space overloaded with grief and fear in their rawest forms. Following the death of two loved ones in the last year, the mantra “I want to love, I want to live” resonates intensely in each melody; if the heart is a place that never dies, we must reach it as quickly as possible.

Inspired by memorable artistic encounters, tours with Blonde Redhead and Circuit des yeux, and a collaboration with Calvin Johnson, Bibi Club now reveals itself in avant-pop and electronic body music with elements of dark wave and neofolk, simultaneously borrowing from baroque sounds with harpsichords, trumpets, and ritual songs to be learned by heart. Supported by a caring community, including saxophonist and activist Dimitri Milbrun (George Sand) and singer-songwriter Helena Deland (A Different Light), Amaro allows Bibi Club to define itself in both intimate and collective terms.
