An event of international renown, the Carrefour mondial de l’accordéon is an annual gathering that has been presented for 35 years, spanning 3 days over Labor Day. It takes place in Montmagny, in the picturesque Chaudière-Appalaches region, where accordion enthusiasts and those who wish to discover it can enjoy this unique festival. The program offers a wide variety of performances, featuring nearly 65 musicians from Quebec, across Canada, and about ten other countries. The musicians showcase the vast range of accordion sounds in numerous musical styles, ranging from traditional and classical music to jazz and folk.

Montmagny is located in the Chaudière-Appalaches region at an hour east of Quebec and an hour and half west from Rivière-du-Loup.

Naragonia (Ven)
Naragonia hails from Flanders, Belgium. This duo, composed of Pascale Rubens and Toon van Mierlo, has been a staple of the European folk scene for many years. Their compositions have naturally and gradually become essential folk standards. In 2024, Naragonia won the “Best Live Band” award at the Flanders Folk Awards.

"Born in the Republic of Moldova, Cătălin Gușevatîi began his musical training at the Ciprian Porumbescu Music Lyceum in Chișinău under the guidance of Professor Petru Știucă. He also studied with the virtuoso Radu Rățoi. He is currently pursuing his studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, under the renowned Geir Draugsvoll. Despite his young career, he has already taken part in prestigious competitions such as the Coupe Mondiale, PIF Castelfidardo, Accordéons-nous (Mons, Belgium), and Grenzenlos, earning the admiration of both juries and audiences. Passionate about showcasing the accordion as a true artistic instrument, Cătălin strives to blend technique with deep emotion."
Michael Bridge et Kornel Wolak (Sam)
Bridge & Wolak is a globetrotting duo that blends traditional instruments with 21st-century digital technology. Michael Bridge (accordion, piano) and Kornel Wolak (clarinet, piano) perform their own music, drawing from their classical roots and passion for jazz and tango. With virtuosity and an endless sense of wit, these two lively gentlemen embody the modern concept of musician-entertainers-educators. Michael Bridge is a recipient of the Canada Council for the Arts’ Virginia Parker Prize.
Ariana Nasr (Dim)
Originally from Nova Scotia, Ariana is a singer, accordionist, and multi-instrumentalist with a passion for French chanson and world music. A true stage powerhouse, she captivates audiences with her dynamic and engaging performances, accompanying herself on the button chromatic accordion. In 2015, she created a show dedicated to the iconic French singer Édith Piaf, one of her greatest inspirations. Since 2016, she's been collaborating with guitarist Curtis Thorpe on a musical project where she sings and plays saxophone, violin, and accordion. She also leads a family project, performing songs written by her father, an Afghan Sufi poet, alongside her sisters Sahara and Kamila Nasr and her brother-in-law Ken Shorley.
Patrick et Christian Nolet (Dim)
Originally from Gatineau, Patrick Nolet is part of the 6th generation of accordionists in his family. A guitarist from a young age, like his father Christian, he took up the accordion at 34. He quickly became a virtuoso of the diatonic accordion, mastering John Kimmel’s repertoire and Irish music. Christian Nolet, an experienced guitarist with a unique style, studied trad music under M. Aurèle Lacroix. Father and son released an album in 2022, alongside pianist Martine Billette.
