A guitarist, arranger and composer, Fábio Nin is an expert in Brazilian popular music. Winner of the Shell Theatre Award (2008) for best music in É Samba Na Veia, É Candeia, he has worked on several plays as a musician or musical director. Among other things, he composed the original soundtracks for the documentaries “Noel Rosa, Um Espírito Circulante” (2025) and “Proibido Nascer no Paraíso” (2021). He will be joined at Balattou by two artists for an exceptional performance. Based in Montreal since 2018, Gabriel Schwartz has established himself as a central figure on the local Brazilian scene with his Folk-Bossa project and his collaborations with Forró de Lá, Choro de Quintal, Bianca Rocha and Diogo Ramos. He has notably released the albums Samba sans frontières and Cabaça. Rodrigo Simões is a composer whose style navigates between Brazilian music and jazz improvisation. His international career has taken him to stages across China, Australia, South Korea, Paraguay and the United States, in addition to his native Brazil and his adopted home, Canada. Thanks to their performance of this repertoire, Rodrigo’s band was honoured with the ‘Group of the Year’ award at the 10th TU Jazz Festival in Toronto.
