Reaching the semi-finals of the Syli d’Or de la musique du monde, Dos Guitarras is a young duo formed in 2023 by Osvaldo Rabunal and Nicolas Martin, two guitarists united by a shared passion for Latin American music. Their repertoire, both rich and vibrant, combines contemporary creativity with inspiration drawn from the traditional rhythms of southern Latin America (candombe, tango, chacarera), mainly from Argentina, but also incorporating sounds from Brazil, Venezuela and Uruguay. Since their formation, Dos Guitarras has won over Quebec audiences with several acclaimed performances in Bedford, Frelighsburg and Saint-Armand, as well as in Montreal, notably at La Petite Marche, Espace Amalgame, the École Vincent-d’Indy and Montreal City Hall. Recently joined by percussionist Orlando Cabrera, this duo—now a trio—captivates audiences at every performance with their sensitivity, virtuosity and the depth of their musical dialogue.
