Tarikuna is a Montreal-based music group composed of musicians from Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador. Some members were born in Canada, while others are immigrants. The group explores and performs traditional indigenous rhythms such as Wayno (Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru), San Juanito (Ecuador), Tinku (Bolivia), and Raymis (Ecuador). It is diverse, including a singer and musicians playing Andean instruments such as the zampoña, quena, percussion, guitar, bass, bandolin (Ecuadorian instrument), violin, and charango. Tarikuna's project aims to share the rich indigenous culture of Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador with Quebec-Canadian society. They seek to convey their feelings and respect for nature, as their communities embraced the spirit of the Andes long before the colonization of South America.
