Jean Gardy, a Quebecois artist of Haitian descent, blends his roots and life experiences through his project Afropologie. Born in Quebec to Haitian parents, he grew up between two cultures that shaped his musical identity. Trained in theater, singing, and drumming, he developed a powerful and immersive stage presence. His music fuses hip-hop, jazz, funk, neo-soul, and Afro-Haitian rhythms, bridging tradition and modernity. He has performed in Africa, the United States, and Canada, including at Montreal’s Place des Festivals. For over ten years, he has led writing workshops for young people, driven by his search for identity and a message of unity.
