You can’t really talk about Montreal’s West-African music scene without bringing up Aboulaye Koné, one of its most prolific and charismatic ambassadors. True to his destiny, the Ivorian griot scatters baobab seeds everywhere he goes. He’s a dedicated promoter of his Mandinka culture, its deep roots, colorful outfits, and wise teachings. Always with the sincere desire to meet others and create connections between cultures. Aboulaye Koné, who has earned several music prizes and grants, is an ace percussionist and mandinka guitar player, both acoustic and electric, from jazz to traditional, he applies his virtuosity to his impressive musical heritage.
