Forró das Andorinhas, literally translating to "the forró of the swallows," is a group named after the migration of black swallows to Brazil in winter and Canada in summer. This reality is shared by Forró das Andorinhas, which was born from the encounter of musicians hailing from Brazil, Quebec, and Colombia, all passionate about forró pé de serra, the traditional forró style. In dance nights, the group not only showcases the most typical forró rhythms like xote, baião, and forró e arrasta pé but also incorporates rhythms such as choro and forró sambado, which were prevalent in traditional forró but fell out of use by the end of the 20th century.
