Formed in Montreal between 2012 and 2013, the group ASAKA, blending Gnawa tradition with various styles, represents Amazigh culture in Quebec. In 2015, the group officially adopted the name "ASAKA." The arrival of Ferhat Asma energized the group, propelling them towards high-level musical interpretations. Since 2017, ASAKA has participated in various events, including the Amazigh Month in Montreal, and has released original compositions such as "Bu Nnya" and a song dedicated to mothers titled "Yemma." The current permanent lineup of the group includes Djamal Sahnoune, Ferhat Asma, Mehdi Ogal, and Kamel Messaoudi.
