Siaka Diabaté, born into a griot family in Orodara, Burkina Faso, learned to play the Balafon from his father, starting his performances in fields and traditional ceremonies. In 2008, he moved to Ouagadougou, working at the Village Artisanal in crafting traditional instruments. His passion grew for the flute, which he played daily, and the kora became his nighttime companion. From 2011, he began musical collaborations, including with Abasse Vitalo on RTB Matin. Currently in high demand on stages in Burkina Faso, he relocated to Ottawa, Canada, in 2022.
