Le Téton Tardif is more than a solo performance. It is an intimate and eye-opening journey through the complexities of female identity. Caroline invites us into her inner world, where breasts become the focal point of a story rich in emotion, humor, and introspection. Blending stand-up comedy, theatrical drama, and physical expression, she challenges us to reconsider our perceptions of beauty, sexuality, and self-worth in a society shaped by media and pop culture.
This show is a co-production by Caroline Raynaud and Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario, presented in co-presentation by La Slague and Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario. Intended for audiences aged 14 and up, and open to all.
“Avec candeur, férocité, lucidité et un humour noir redoutable, Caroline emploie ses grands talents de comédienne à décortiquer les normes sociales qui sexualisent nos corps et qui nous amènent à adhérer à ces fantasmes délirants et souvent toxiques.”
Éric Robitaille, lettre d’appui, Sudbury, samedi le 29 juin 2024

Caroline Raynaud
Caroline began her career in France. An actress, she notably performed alongside Marion Cotillard in the Oscar-winning film La Vie en Rose by Olivier Dahan. Six years ago, she moved to Canada and continued to pursue her passion. She portrays the Marquise de Merteuil in the web series Les Liaisons Dangereuses: Correspondance Inédite (Karine Ricard), currently airing on TFO. She appears in The Baker (Jonathan Sobol) alongside Ron Perlman, as well as in Rêver en Néon, a Francophone production directed by Marie-Claire Marcotte.
On stage, she has taken part in various projects in Sudbury with the Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario and also performed in 1.2.3., the latest production by Mani Soleymanlou—a play exploring questions of community identity, which toured across Canada in the fall of 2022. She was on stage in fall 2023 in Toronto in Les Filles du Roi (TFT), and in 2024 in Sudbury in L'encyclopédie de l'échec (TNO).
Alongside her acting work, a desire to write and share emerged. Théâtre Action first supported her research process, followed by the TNO. Today, she is supported by the ATFC and the Ontario Arts Council (CAO) in her creative journey. Her piece Le Téton Tardif, which she also performs, was presented at Contact Ontarois 2025 and has received the Audace and ROSEQ awards.
The story of the show
We enter the intimate world of a woman navigating the wild terrain of femininity. With tenderness and brutal honesty, she shares her obsessions and joys, her victories and misadventures. She wonders aloud: “What makes me a woman? A good woman? A mother?”
For her, it all started with breasts. They were late to arrive, and the wait became an obsession. That’s when Ophélie appeared, a pop idol with Barbie-doll looks and a prophetic line: “Mine just popped in overnight!”
“Overnight!” She takes those words literally and makes them her guiding star, her beacon of hope. Her breasts will make her a woman.
But the story goes further back — to Barbie. Her favorite doll. The big-chested, tiny-waisted ideal. Caroline reconnects with the little girl she was, the teenager, the woman, on a quest to love herself so she can love others.
