Not all great talents are great stars. Discovering them, despite their relative obscurity, is a keenly felt pleasure. We gain an appreciation for our environment, capable of offering such beautiful presences. We share the thrill of a brand-new performance. We experience a moment of beautiful guidance that wants to do good, just by forging a link.
It’s in this spirit that La Slague invites you to “Au bistro des découvertes“. This intimate concert series is carefully curated, with new talent personally recommended by seasoned French Ontario artists. Our old hands on the music scene are well placed to make good musical acquaintances, and like us, the stars love to share their finds with their friends. So be one of their friends!
Au Bistro des Découvertes, you’ll come for the good atmosphere, the good food, the good music, the good company, all under the guidance of the evening’s artist godparents, to create an intimate and convivial evening with their protégés.
An initiative of La Slague, under the artistic direction of Dan Bédard.
Discover our artsit gosparents' favorite meal from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by the show from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Jamie Dupuis presents…
Our New Liskeard guitar master is in fact a master of all guitars: electric, acoustic, classical, 12-string, 18-string and banjo. He’s best known for his guitar harp, so remarkable with its second neck, thanks to a viral video with millions of views. Tonight, a popular guest at guitar festivals and winner of numerous guitar competitions introduces us to a guitarist he admires.
Zak Martel
He’s a master of Django Reinhardt-style gypsy swing, a style that’s unfailingly sympathetic, exciting and impressive. Also from New Liskeard, he sometimes teams up with his fellow countryman, for example at Jazz Sudbury, where together they won the 2017 Emerging Artists Showcase. These days, Zak lives in Montreal, where he studies with a gypsy master while playing at high-profile jazz clubs and receptions at prestigious institutions.
Discover our host's favorite meal from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by the show from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
On the menu, one of his favorite dishes: Thai red or yellow curry with chicken, vegetables and rice, or Thai salad with mango. Let yourself be lulled by a Pomegranate-flavored Perrier water, and make sure to save room for a blueberry tart for dessert!
**Please note that the ticket does not include the meal**.
