Redfox

RedFox was formed when folk duo Jono Townsend and Tim Loten relocated to Montreal and joined up with vocalist/fiddle virtuoso Daphnee Vandal. After months of honing their sound and rehearsing in apartment living rooms, the band had a vision, but was having difficulty finding their missing piece. Determined, they decided it was time to expand. Hoping to achieve a broader, more dynamic sound, the trio reached out to experienced metal drummer and longtime university friend, Sam Neumann, to join on drums, as well as prog-rock bassist Sam Robinson to complete the outfit. Their sound was transformed into the folky, ambient, high-energy experience that we come to know as RedFox, retaining their acoustic roots while also exploring and blending more electric sounds. The group can trace their influences back to bands such as Punch Brothers, Half Moon Run, and Paramore. Since its birth, the band has released two EPs, one single and finally their debut full-length album 'Stranger Love'. The first self-titled EP features “Calling Out” and “A Song for the Little Ones”. The second, titled 'Recovery', was released in 2019, featuring “Hurry Up” and finishing with their powerful and emotional track “Stay”. Despite the difficulties in 2020 for musicians, RedFox has pushed forward, releasing 3 new singles, their most recent one being "Runaway", released on October 13th. Notable past performances include Kemptville Live Music Festival for two consecutive years (2018-2019), Opinicon Music Festival (2019) and Stewart Park Music Festival (2019).

The Day Dreamers

There’s no adventure quite like getting lost in a dream. The Day Dreamers have been wandering through one of their own since their female-fronted musical odyssey began in 2013 when guitarist/vocalist Ali Kouri and violinist/vocalist Tiana Grandili founded the group. Back then, the idea was to create indie-folk music inspired by some of their favorite artists - Half Moon Run, The Lumineers, Joni Mitchell, Of Monsters & Men, and Simon & Garfunkel - to create a unique but always inviting sound centered around three-part vocal harmonies. Over the years, the Montreal-native group has become a melting pot of styles featuring a viral DJ and virtuosic arranger in drummer Cedric de Saint-Rome, a reflective and powerful voice in keyboardist and vocalist Stephanie Maier, and a creative playfulness in bassist Lou Raskin. The five members went to work crafting songs about dreams, adventure, love, and loss. With their acclaimed 2016 debut album All Through The Night, the band found new dreams realized as they shared the stage with notable performers such as Randy Bachman and Andy Kim while they ventured to perform in a range of high-profile places. With producer Dave Traina (The Damn Truth), The Day Dreamers put out their 2019 record Forever Again. Once again, the band’s sound is reinvigorated with energy, passion, and an inability to precisely pin-point a specific genre. Their latest single & video Carried Away released on February 19, 2021, with more releases to follow in the Fall.
