OFFTA 2023

OFFTA 2023

OFFTA
17th edition
May 26th to June 4th, 2023

The OFFTA is back, with emerging artists of the live arts scenes that weave their projects around tangible magic and speculative healing. This year’s program features strong and complex voices, inviting us to activate our collective imagination to inhabit the world differently, in a more caring way.

Having always been invested in emerging practices and unexplored forms, this year, the OFFTA will feature laboratory projects – sharing the process, art in the midst of unfurling – as well as finished projects.

Our program will feature live arts that take place throughout Montreal’s many theaters, but also atypical locations (the outdoors, public spaces) and forms (ambulatory performances, immersive experiences). Festive evenings, sharing and networking activities, and meetings for professionals will also take place from May 26 to June 4, once again making the OFFTA a unifying event for festival-goers and the live arts communities alike!

__________
OFFTA, live art festival
Annual artistic event created on the edge of the Festival TransAmériques (FTA), OFFTA is a festival dedicated to emerging avant-garde creation in live arts. Since 2007, it scans the local artistic landscape in order to highlight creators whose projects trace new avenues in theatre, dance, circus and performance. The OFFTA grounds its identity on an artistic direction which favors solid and singular approaches, emerging practices and experimentation.

Shows and labs
This year, OFFTA distinguishes between two types of projects in its programming, allowing curious festival-goers to discover completed projects and works in their creative process. You therefore have access to fully-developed projects – the shows – and projects that are works in progress – the labs.
