MOBEMBO, which means “journey” in Lingala, is a musical crossing through time, rhythms, and the traditional melodies of Congo. Hendry Massamba tells the story of a people, their roots, and their exile, where the deportation of enslaved Africans gave rise to a vibrant métissage, blending pain, resistance, and rebirth. On stage, ancestral drums converse with the guitar, the soulful voice intertwines with blues and jazz, creating an organic fusion between the African land and the breath of the world. Between poetry, festive energy, and conscious reflection, MOBEMBO carries the audience into an inner voyage, where memory becomes music and music becomes memory. It is a cry of love for Congo, a tribute to those who still walk, sing, and dream despite wounds and massacres.
