At the darkest time of the year, the Sainte-Anne Singers offer a programme of light, from Eric Whitacre’s “Lux aurumque” to Andrew Balfour’s “Qilak”, a piece which embodies the reflection of sun on snow.

You will hear contemporary settings of familiar carols, many by Canadian and Quebec composers, as well as original compositions celebrating the pleasures of winter.

Highlights include arrangements of Gordon Lightfoot’s “Song for a Winter’s Night”, Joni Mitchell’s “River” and a setting for upper voices of Shakespeare’s “Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind” featuring wind chimes and percussion.
