Mixing hypnotic rhythms and explosive tension, Grand Public offers a music built of angular textures and aerial melodies. The guitars intermingle and respond to each other, while the bass and percussion insert themselves into the vocal tunes. The band being made up of Gregory Paquet (The Stills, Molly Rankin of Alvvays, Peter Peter) and three childhood friends who have played together in several bands, including Reviews since 2017. Reviews having shared the stage with Corridor, Omni and several others, the members of Grand Public already have several years of experience. Grand Public took advantage of the pandemic era to bring the project to a boil, refining their sound and writing several songs, four of them recently recorded with producer Dominic Vanchesteing (Bernardino Femminielli, Marie Davidson, Julia Daigle).
Radiant Baby draws from 70s vintage influences, such as glam rock, punk, disco and new wave. The raw, fiery energy of his music is juxtaposed with vulnerable, melancholic and romantic atmospheres, reminiscent of artists such as Bowie, Blondie, Suicide, Pulp and Serge Gainsbourg. Radiant Baby transposed successfully on stage the infectious energy of his songs with a captivating performance. His last album, Porcelaine, takes all that is haunting in the past and turns it into a stylized, passionate and utterly groovy pop object.
