Création In Vivo

Créations In Vivo is a non-profit organization based in Ottawa that advances Francophone arts in minority-language communities through the transmission, creation, production, and touring of Franco-Ontarian theatre.

In its founding charter, CIV defines itself as a multidisciplinary creative space where theatre, music, movement, and visual arts intersect. This foundational vision continues to guide its work today.

CIV develops a contemporary popular theatre that is satirical and musical in nature. Inspired by the spirit of the fool, its creations rely on movement, rhythm, humour, and friction to bring the French language to life. This approach embraces feminist and queer perspectives while striving to make theatre accessible without compromising artistic rigor.

Through a slow touring approach, CIV develops extended and eco-conscious tours that integrate cultural mediation, workshops, and artist residencies. This model creates deeper connections with audiences, reaches remote communities, and supports more sustainable compensation for artists working in Francophone minority contexts.
