Le Carougeois

Le Carougeois

Le Carougeois is a poetic performance bursting into space, using live audio-visual constructions for an intimate room in an astonishing winding path that links us to the past.

In this surprising tale, we’re transported to the early 80s at 31 rue Dauphine, Old Quebec. The past clings to us. There’s an everyday life in this neighborhood full of historical traces. It’s about to die out.

Le Carougeois uses object and puppet theater, audio and video art, literature, performance and voice. The story, conceived and directed by Gilles Arteau, is performed with the creative complicity of Marcelle Hudon, Carole Nadeau, Meriol Lehman, Sylvain Miousse and Steve Verreault. An original creation with the participation of artists who are pioneers in the history of multidisciplinary art in Quebec.
