Launch of the album "Exalta Calma"

After playing “Circum Continuum” on several continents from 2016 to 2020, the August quartet returns to us with a new opus that mixes time readings, contrasts and atmospheres, as well as sound climates. With "Exalta calma", Auguste invites us to superimpose two antipodes which might suggest to us, variable forces animating the interior of a painting, a person and / or even a sound. The quartet's music does not show itself to the exhilaration of speed, but to the thrill and elasticity of the phrases, as much as exultation.

Alain Bédard

The Auguste quartet led by double bassist Alain Bédard has given hundreds of concerts on all continents and released 5 albums including "Auguste", "Sphère Réflexion", "Bluesy Lunedi" (nominated for the ADISQ and JUNO awards in the category best album of the year 2010), "Homos Pugnax" and "Circum Continuum". Today the quartet composed of Mario Allard (sax), Félix Stussi (pn), Alain Bédard (cb) and Michel Lambert is coming to us with the new project "Exalta calma".
