In a fishing village on the outskirts of Dakar, several people dream of leaving their difficult lives behind and starting over in Europe. Some even pay fortunes for the chance to board a pirogue bound for Spain. But the journey is long and dangerous. Food and water can run out, conflicts may arise among the passengers at any moment, and the weather conditions are far from predictable. Despite these challenges, Captain Baye Laye does everything he can to bring everyone safely to shore.
