« Kreise », de l’allemand « Cercles », est un groupe de musique originaire de la Rive-Sud de Montréal. Tantôt puissante, tantôt contemplative, la musique du quatuor se distingue par son utilisation de guitares planantes (Etienne Duchesne), de basse sismique (Tristan Morais), de batterie sophistiquée (Patrick Bureau) et de chant mi-prière grégorienne, mi-clameur gutturale (Pablo Sengmanivong Couturier). Il en résulte une musique unique et moderne, entre l’alternatif et le métal, un post-rock inspiré et fort en émotions. 

En 2014, Kreise enregistre « KREISEISDEAD », son premier EP appuyé par Anik Jean, la protégée de Jean Leloup, et mixé par Glen Robinson (David Bowie, Dave Grohl, Keith Richards). Le groupe vogue parallèlement sur la scène underground montréalaise, devenant visible aux yeux de quelques compagnies d’événements. En 2015, ils décrochent le 1er prix au concours Metal Academie. En 2016, ils sillonnent le pays d’un océan à l’autre, en tant que tête d’affiche d’une tournée canadienne. 

De retour à Montréal, Kreise font le tour de plusieurs concerts et partage la scène avec des groupes tels que The Contortionist, Northlane, Beyond Creation, Protest The Hero, Grimskunk, Monuments ou encore Sleepmakeswaves. 

Kreise travaille présentement sur un nouvel EP et dépeint une musique puissante, actuelle et dresse un tableau existentiel. De toutes les trois formes primaires, « le cercle est celui qui pointe le plus clairement vers la 4eme dimension » disait Kandinsky.

Kreise creates music that is both powerful and contemplative. Etienne Duchesne's intricate guitar work, Tristan Morais's groovy basslines, Patrick Bureau's precise drumming, and Pablo Couturier's powerful vocals all come together to create a sound that is fresh and rooted in the alternative scene

In 2015, Kreise released their debut EP, "Kreiseisdead" which was mastered by the award-winning producer Glenn Robinson. The EP features three tracks, including the popular song "Jesus was Drunk," and helped to establish the band as a rising force in the Canadian metal scene. The release of "Kreiseisdead" was followed by extensive touring across Canada and local shows, where the band opened for notable acts such as The Contortionist, Entheos, Monuments, Northlane, and Protest the Hero, among others.

Looking ahead, the band continues to evolve their sound and push the boundaries of heavy music with the release of their upcoming EP ‘’Miraculeuse’’, making them a must-see live act for fans of heavy but contemplative music.
