Special Scent Detection Workshop with Jane Book

Join Jane Book for an immersive day of scent detection skill-building. Two 3.5-hour workshops are offered, based on your level. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to deepen your skills and enrich your dog’s training with a recognized expert in the field. The groups will be very small to ensure an intimate atmosphere and personalized coaching.


EXCELLENT / ELITE WORKSHOP – 9 AM TO 12:30 PM

Prerequisite: Your dog must be familiar with all three odours.

Join Jane Book for a 3.5-hour workshop focused on developing Excellent and Elite-level skills. Through targeted exercises and varied search scenarios, you’ll learn how to fine-tune your dog’s work while maintaining motivation.


What to expect:

-Gradually increase search difficulty without compromising the dog’s engagement.

-Work through specific challenges: converging odours and inaccessible hides.

-Prepare effectively for the Elite level.


This workshop is ideal for teams looking to refine their performance and push their scent detection limits.


ADVANCED WORKSHOP – 1:30 PM TO 5 PM

Prerequisite: Your dog must be familiar with Wintergreen and Pine.


This workshop is designed for advanced-level teams who want to structure their training and prepare for the transition to Excellent level.


What to expect:

-Plan and organize efficient home searches.

-Search strategies for all three components.

-Train to ignore food distractions.

-Introduce or improve elevated hides.

-Prepare for the Excellent level.

A golden opportunity to refine your techniques and gain practical tools to advance your canine scent detection journey!

Jane Book

Jane Book, B.Sc., is a scent detection judge, instructor, and competitor. Passionate about scent detection for over a decade, she has honed her skills through competition. Her methods have helped many students qualify for national scent detection championships. Jane is also the founder of www.thedogscents.com, an online video-based program that allows students to train in scent detection remotely while receiving support through video coaching and a dedicated Facebook group.
