A brand new adaptation of The Numbered by Nobel Prize winner Elias Canetti (Crowds and Power, Auto da Fe).

Adapted and directed by Mary Harvey

The Numbered plunges you into the futurist world of an authoritarian society where names are obsolete. Instead, each citizen bears the label of the immutable number of years they are allotted to live.

People plan without fear in this peacefully controlled society, knowing exactly when their "moment" will arrive. This deterministic existence dictates every relationship, every ambition, every social interaction.

But what happens if one person dares to question this tyranny?

Fifty, the play's protagonist, finds themself rebelling against this unbearable determinism, driven by an insatiable need for the freedom of uncertainty. Their perilous journey of discovery ends in a confrontation with the Keeper of the Lockets, and a revelation that could shatter the society's sacred foundation…
