Alex Zhang Hungtai

After retiring his project Dirty Beaches, Zhang has been focusing on explorations of improvised music, Free Jazz, and his new role as a composer. His newer compositions predominantly works with saxophone, synthesizers, percussion and piano, furthering his research on ritualistic music of liminality. Besides his solo work, he is also a member of a Free Jazz/experimental trio with Portugese minimalist/architect David Maranha, and Free Jazz Drummer Gabriel Ferrandini in Lisbon. Zhang currently works as a composer for film soundtracks, along with acting in independent films.

Habib Bardi

Habib Bardi is a musician. He plays the alto saxophone and writes electroacoustic compositions. Through various mediums, Habib’s current practice seeks to investigate the limits and vulnerability of musical performance and composition.
Habib is the co-founder of Montreal label, publishing house and events collective Interzone Editions (active since 2018 and collaborated with artists such as Leila Bordreuil, Dreamcrusher, Nate Young, Wetware, JS Aurelius, Giant Swan and E-Saggila). He performed in solo and group settings in France, Tunisia, and Canada. He studied the alto saxophone with Yves Charuest.
