Les Rats d'Swompe
Originally from Northern and Eastern Ontario, Les Rats d'Swompe are proud French Canadians, brought together to introduce people to the sound of the traditional violin, the call and response songs and the musicality of yesteryear. Based in Ottawa, Les Rats d'Swompe are five plaid lumberjacks who take the stage to fuse elements of rock, traditional, pop and punk. These young but experienced musicians are one of the few groups to bring Franco-Ontarian folklore to life. A high energy act that will make you want to sing and dance.
Chantons Hearst
A multi-generational event at Hearst, Sing It Hearst will allow four representatives of Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y and Generation Z to take the microphone and prove that their generation is the best! There will be music for everyone! The audience and the judges, the Rats d'Swompe, will determine the winners in each category, as well as the overall winner of the evening. The competition will be followed by a performance by the Rats d'Swompe. Join us for this free evening on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the Claude-Larose Recreation Center.
Participants will be accompanied by a "House Band" composed of renowned local musicians, Alain Filion, André Lanthier, Roger Lanthier, Luc Poulin and Raymond Piette! Talent at its highest degree! Back voices will also be on stage to accompany the singers during their performance.
Come laugh with local comedian Guy Morin with his sketch that highlights the differences between generations. Laughter guaranteed!!!
