Orchestre Fidelio presents Héros Classiques, a tribute to the three 'pillars' of Classical Music, with emphasis on Beethoven's famous 'Eroica' Symphony. For the first time, Orchestre Fidelio will play in Église St-Édouard, a magnificent gothic style cathedral located on 6500 Rue Saint Vallier / 425 Rue Beaubien Est.
Michael Fowler, a young up-and-coming cellist who played with Orchestre Fidelio in 2023 and 2024, now returns as the soloist in Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 1 in C Major.
The listener will be impressed by the distinct character and musical worlds offered by each composer. In particular, the 'Eroica' Symphony was Beethoven's favorite of all 9, of which his friend Ferdinand Ries said '...I believe that heaven and earth will tremble when it is performed.'
NB: Under 12 years old free admittance !

Michael Fowler
Twenty-year-old Michael Fowler is a promising young cellist living in Montréal.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Michael began his musical studies quite early, shortly before his third birthday, first playing violin and switching to cello at the age of 6.
Michael has been fortunate to study with several exceptional cello teachers: Elinor Frey, Julie Trudeau, and - most recently - with Yegor Dyachkov at the Faculty of Music at the University of Montréal.
Michael has won recognition regionally and nationally in several prestigious competitions. In the winter of 2026, his rendition of Elgar’s Cello Concerto won first prize in the concerto competition of the Faculty of Music of the University of Montréal, which he will perform with the Orchestre de l’université de Montréal in 2027. As the 2024 and 2026 winner of the Concerto Competition of the Orchestre symphonique des jeunes de Montréal (Montréal Youth Symphony), he performed the Shostakovich Cello Concerto with that orchestra in May 2024 and will perform the Brahms double concerto for violin and cello in May 2026. He also was awarded the Gold (2023 and 2025) and Silver medals (2022) in the CANIMEX Canadian Music Competition, Grand Prix and the Audience Prize in the competition Cégeps en Concert (2024), and Second Prize in the Festival concours de musique classique de Pierre-De Saurel (2022).
An avid orchestral musician, Michael has held the position of principal cellist at the Montréal University Orchestra (OUM), the Orchestre symphonique des jeunes de Montréal, and the Orchestre Fidelio.
Passionate about the future of classical music, Michael also works as a cello teacher in the Montréal Symphony Orchestra (OSM)’s Sistema program for school-aged children.
