Launch of the album "L’impact du silence" - Solo piano
Too often in music, the importance of silence is underestimated. When used wisely, silence can be emotional and poetic. L’impact du silence is about the powerful impact that silence has on listeners. This collection of piano pieces in different styles is a musical adventure that combines improvisation, lyricism, and abstraction and features integrity and emotion as the main themes.
Over 35‑year career, he recorded several group albums; it was time to make a solo piano album. He decided to work with the brilliant sound engineer Gérard De Haro at La Buissonne, the studio where countless world-renowned musicians have recorded.
A solo album lays it all bare. It gives me a chance to indulge in introspection without losing the contrasts of dynamics to create music that is varied and unpredictable and that has both the spontaneity of improvisation and a rigorous structure.
