Is the possession of wealth always at stake? From the race between the Nazis and the Americans to possess the atomic bomb, as portrayed by the Canadian writer of Congolese origin Blaise Ndala (L’équation avant la nuit), to Russia’s war against Ukraine—unfolding before the world’s eyes and turning into genocidal war, as starkly reflected in the poems of Ukrainian poet Lyuba Yakimchuk (Apricots of Donbas)—war, war always.
