Join us for an evening of powerful storytelling and electrifying music as Ben Caplan teams up with the dynamic Montreal-based string quartet Warhol Dervish. Caplan, known for his commanding baritone and theatrical stage presence, draws deeply from Eastern European folk traditions, weaving elements of Klezmer and other diasporic influences into his evocative songwriting. This unique performance blends Caplan’s raw dynamism with Warhol Dervish’s intricate string performances. Together, they breathe contemporary life into echoes from the past, fusing timeless melodies with bold, modern textures. Alongside the performance, Caplan will discuss his songwriting process, the evolution of folk traditions, and the art of carrying old sounds into the future. An evening of deep resonance, soaring melodies, and transformative music awaits.
