The richness of Russian history, culture and literature speaks for itself. The current political climate makes writing about Russia as complicated as ever. From a literary point of view, how do you write about Russia? Which Russian characters help us grasp the present situation in all its complexity? An exceptional exchange between three writers with a profound understanding of Russia: Mikhail Iossel (Sentence; Rasskazy: New Fiction from a New Russia), Simon Sebag Montefiore (The Romanovs: 1614-1918, The Moscow Trilogy), Rosemary Sullivan (Stalin’s Daughter).
