Souldia

Souldia thinks of rap as one sharpens a knife. It is with a pen of dangerous precision and an equally sharp verve that he has imposed his charismatic presence on the Quebec scene for twenty years. The release of a first solo album — “Art Kontrol” — in 2009 had a huge effect and Hurricane Souldia hit Quebec almost instantly. With the albums "Double edge" (2011) with rapper Saye, "The origins of evil" (2012) and "Krime Grave" (2014), "Amsterdam", fruit of a memorable collaboration with Rymz (2016), " Sacrifice” (2016), “Ad Vitam Aeternam” (2017), “Survivor” (2018), “Backstage” (2020), “Silence radio” (2020), “OFF” (2020) in collaboration with Tizzo and finally “ Dixque d'art” (2021), the prolific rapper is today illustrated as a staple of rap in Quebec. Accustomed to the top of the province's record sales charts, he has accumulated sold-out concerts and nominations ("Album of the Year - Rap" and "Album of the Year - Best Seller" at the Gala de l'ADISQ and “Album of the Year – Rap” at GAMIQ). With, to date, more than 150,000 subscribers on social networks and more than 50 million cumulative views on YouTube, Souldia shakes the collective cage and federates, probably. Black sheep assumed, he knew how to create a margin in his image where evaluated. Along the winding road, the irreducible artist from Limoilou never forced things; it's rather his instinct and his cut-throat pencil that he has relied on so far. The growing numbers and the abundance of people providing it will prove him right.

Taktika

A true pillar of the Quebec hip hop movement, TAKTIKA was born in 1996 on the

south shore of Quebec. Formed by rappers T-Mo, B.I.C. & Benz (member until 2002), the group quickly carved out a place for itself in the hearts of fans thanks to music produced without compromise. With more than 100,000 albums sold in his career, five nominations at the Gala de l'ADISQ

and hundreds of shows that have taken them to the four corners of the province and to the most prestigious stages (Spectrum de Montréal), Métropolis (Montréal),

(Grand Théâtre de Québec, etc.)

Mo and B.I.C have conquered several generations with their music.

Jay Jay

Of Congolese origin and the youngest of a family of six children, Jay Jay is a charismatic bomb, refreshing, with the air of a diamond in the rough. It is also the story of a neighborhood. Coming from the St-Pie X sector in Limoilou and deeply influenced by what surrounds him, the artist depicts his reality with talent, finesse and lucidity. “There were greats who rapped, but they were great,” he admits, spontaneously. At the gates of adolescence at the height of his twelve years, Jay Jay is clearly an exception.

With his head constantly writing, the newcomer catches ideas as they cross his mind. He divides his time differently between the school benches, the basketball court and the restaurant run by his mother, where he helps out for money or candy. A player with an assertive versatile flow, Jay Jay is hardworking. His first two singles – the solid “Malewa” and “Frérots” – immediately anchor the subject, in addition to presenting it to the general public. On BLOC 2000, directed by Christophe Martin and Souldia, we will talk through rap about what matters to the young man: his neighborhood, his friends, his origins and, above all, the love and respect he has for his loved ones. With collaborations such as Souldia, Tizzo and Shreez on the album, the newcomer is not left out.

With this solidarity that he maintains vis-à-vis his family and those he considers part of the family, Jay Jay offers a universe where music is at the service of hope and beauty. days. Propelled by the desire to speak, he raps... and he does it very well.

Dan L’Initié

Dan The Insider is a conscious rapper in search of spiritual evolution and universal truths. Of Wendat origin, he began rapping at the age of 16 and very quickly discovered a deep passion for writing and music. The adventure began in 2014. He will be invited on the TV set of TAM 3 and TAM 4. He will also be selected by Musique nomade for the shooting of his music video "Hymne à la vie" and he will be the subject of several interviews on the radio waves in order to explain his musical and literary approach. In July 2015, he will release his album "Porteurs de Messages" composed of 21 songs and a professional DVD of the show he gave at the Wendaké Pow-Wow in 2014.

Thereafter, he will take a one-year break to fully experience the first year of his son's birth. In September 2016, he will come back in force by announcing a concept of three volumes of seven pieces each where he will step out of his comfort zone and clichés.

Volume 1 “Renaissance” published in September 2017 on all platforms. In 2018, he will go back to writing to produce the between two volumes "Le quai 1 3/4", composed of eight songs. This between two volumes was intended as a bridge between Volume 1 "Renaissance" and Volume 2 "The Experience" which will be published in the spring of 2021. Volume 3 "The Accomplishment" is in the process of being created and will be the end of a 21-song project about the soul's journey through the physical world.

Whitie

This is the story of love at first sight. That of a young teenager from Quebec who, just after seeing a rap show in Montreal, returns home with a clear idea in mind: to devote his life to music. Obsessed with his new passion, the 16-year-old Limoulois records a first song on his mother's computer. This is the birth of Whitie. In his songs, the rapper, producer and guitarist hits where it hurts. It is that, despite a happy childhood, Whitie has a lot on the heart. He feels unable to find his place in such an absurd and violent world. His texts are the mirror of his malaise, his procrastination, his excesses, his addictions.

His first EP Youngin', released in 2019, shows that he was able to skilfully filter his musical inspirations (XXXTentacion, Dominic Fike, Stromae) and find his own style, somewhere between pop, trap and emo rap. Above all, the very enthusiastic reception of this project in his own city confirmed to him that he had made the right choices. But making the right choices isn't nearly so easy for Whitie. The 21-year-old artist fights a perpetual fight against his demons, using music as a means to exorcise them.

It is therefore with a more lucid mind than ever that he is working on a first official opus which will be released on May 13th. Scheduled for this year, the album unfiltered evokes his winding journey, his problematic detours, but also his desire to move from darkness to light. Alongside the young Montreal producer Worry, a specialist in vaporous and captivating atmospheres, Whitie affirms and assumes his pop ambitions in this first large-scale project.

In short, he approaches rap like an artist of his time: with touching vulnerability, skin-deep lucidity and an unstoppable sense of melody.

SMZ

Smz is a French rapper of Malian origin born in France, June 16, 2005 in Paris.

Grew up in Bagneux in the 92nd arrondissement SMZ came to Canada at the age of 12. He did not have the goal of making music growing up, but one day he was with friends they listened to instrumentals and he started writing lyrics and people liked it so he started doing it more often.

During the year 2021, a contest was organized to determine the best freestyler in Quebec and on a whim and especially pushed by his friends, he participated and he reached the final. It was from this point that SMZ began to take music more seriously.

When he was young, he listened to a lot of rap like Niska, Mhd, Sexion d'Assault, Black M or even Booba, but the person he is most inspired by today is Larry, because they have a point in common, kicking.

Still very young, SMZ has his whole future mapped out and is preparing great things for the rest of his career!
