Four professional musicians from Québec City improvise entirely new music collaboratively, guided by the master of ceremonies. The improvisation instructions include allusions to the Chalmers-Wesley United Church and its history, and the artists use their originality and musical imagination to contribute to the collective performance, without competition.

The church's naturally long and reverberant acoustics allow the instruments to resonate without amplification, creating moments of pure stillness and, who knows, perhaps an opportunity for quiet contemplation. Solos, duets, trios, and quartets will showcase the musicians' talent and the beauty of the Chalmers-Wesley United Church organ.

Opened in 1853, Chalmers-Wesley United Church boasts magnificent stained glass windows, superb woodwork and a renowned century-old organ. It is characterized by the purity of its neo-Gothic architecture and is distinguished by the simultaneously massive and slender character of its bell tower spire, which overlooks all of Old Québec. Currently, the Chalmers-Wesley United Church shares the use of the building with the French-speaking parish of Saint-Pierre.

Where can I park my car?

Parking spaces are limited in Old Québec. For this reason, we recommend that you walk, bike or take public transportation. If you wish to drive to Old Québec, you can park your car in one of the two public parking lots – the D’Youville parking lot and the City Hall parking lot – or you can use a parking meter on the streets. All these parking options require a fee.
